Multiple Sclerosis Video Translation

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a disease that affects the myelin or white matter of the brain and spinal cord, causing the appearance of sclerotic plaques that prevent normal operation of these nerve fibers.
To make the diagnosis of multiple sclerosis, we need neuroradiology studies consisting of MRI contrast.

Depending on its stage is what we expect to see: demyelinating lesions characterized by what we call “black holes”, also thinning of the corpus callosum, periventricular injuries and some other complex injuries.

Another very important study neurophysiologists do is to determine the alteration by visual potential. Sometimes the patient has a history of slight loss of vision. But with the results potential alteration has in visual latency, that translates into a demyelination problem we or auditory potential that is not part of the diagnostic criteria but is important for the changes that the patient might have.

This is apart from the laboratory studies that would discard autoimmune diseases.

Multiple sclerosis treatment currently depends heavily on the attachment that the patient has and the body’s response to treatment. Unfortunately there is no treatment to cure the disease, treatment modifies it to expect a better quality of life for the patient, which is the ultimate purpose of every member of the team that treats him.
